QF was established in 1995 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father Amir, and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. They shared their inspirational vision that the future of Qatar lies in unlocking the most precious resource of all human potential.

 

Today Qatar Foundation is the face of Qatar for the world. Qatar Foundation has been internationally recognized as a leading entity that has transformed Qatar into the world’s top welfare country in the world.

 

 

Chairperson of QF, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has been actively engaged in education and other social reforms in Qatar for many years and has played a major role in leading national and international development projects.

 

Due to her leading role, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has been nominated for the UN SDGs advocates for people, planet, and prosperity.

 

Education, Innovation & Community Development

 

Qatar Foundation has been investing heavily in education, innovation, community developments, a network of almost 50 entities working for education, research, and community development that has 2300 research projects funded worth $1.4 billion, 330 innovations, 4000 plus employees, 11 schools, 9 Universities 4000 alumni 60 degrees 20 startups.

 

Community Development is the heart of the Qatar Foundation. QF provides a platform for social engagement through many of its outreach programs.

 

Community development is an important component of fostering social engagement. QF believes to strengthen community and cultural bonds, developing a nation of active citizens.

 

The best part of Community Development is cultural preservation and in this sphere Qatar Foundation has played its tremendous role in preserving, promoting Qatar national culture and Arabic culture.

 

QF’s initiatives aim to preserve and promote Qatar’s national culture and the Arabic language.

 

The National Museum of Qatar in Doha is one of the major projects of cultural preservation and promotion.
