Speaking at the 2nd Global Dialogue Conference: Bridging Past and Future on February 22, 2025, Malik Ayub Sumbal, Geopolitical Analyst, Award-Winning journalist, and author of the book Tovuz to Karabakh: A Comprehensive Analysis of War in the South Caucasus, called for justice and international recognition of the Khojaly Tragedy.
The event, held at the Wojcik Conference Center at Harper College in Illinois, USA, was organized by the Azerbaijan Diaspora Committee and the Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America to commemorate the 1992 massacre of Azerbaijani civilians.
During a panel discussion, Sumbal urged that perpetrators of such atrocities must be held accountable, stressing the importance of acknowledging the Khojaly Tragedy on a global stage.
The conference also distributed copies of Sumbal’s book to panel participants, offering an in-depth perspective on the conflicts in the region.
