ISLAMABAD: Twelve major defaulters of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited owe the company a staggering Rs 105.88 million, including the Parliament House whose gas bills arrears have reached Rs 49.03 million.
The major defaulters include Pak Secretariat, Parliament House, Sub Divisional Officer Rest House Kahuta, Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree, SDO buildings, National Defence University, Islamabad, Pakistan Works Department, National Training Institute, Federal College of Education H-9 Islamabad, Director General National Institute of Science and Technical Education, Islamabad, District Headquarter Hospital, Attock, and Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad.
According to sources in the billing section of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, the company has suffered huge losses due non-payment of these bills. According to the latest billing details available from the SNGPL office, the Parliament House (consumer number 1300133000) arrears are Rs49.03 million, Pak Secretariat Q-Block (consumer numbers 73500056402, 73500056208, 73500055700) pending arrears are Rs2.16 million, Rs3.10 million and Rs1.29 million respectively.
Taking to The News Zia Malik, general manager billing, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, said: “We are already facing a financial crunch and these unpaid amounts are adding to our financial difficulties.” He said all these major defaulters should deposit their bills immediately.
