The Tehsil Municipal Administration, Rawal Town, has launched an operation against illegal buildings that were constructed without getting building and map plans approved from the building branch of the TMA.

Rawal Town Administrator Talat Mehmood Gondal has ordered the staff of the building branch to take legal action taken against illegal constructions in the jurisdiction of the Rawal

Town. He also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the TMA staff to check illegal constructions in the city.

The drive against illegal constructions in the city will start today (Monday), as TMA teams will inspect maps and other building plans of the under-construction plazas and shopping malls.

The map plans include underground parking of all the multi-storey plazas and buildings approved by the TMA, but there are only a few plazas where underground parking was made. Work would be stopped on those buildings that are under-construction and in violation of rules.

Rawal Town Administrator Talat Mehmood Gondal when contacted by ‘The News’ said, “We have launched a grand operation against illegal constructions and those buildings that have not been approved by the

building branch of the TMA Rawal Town.” He said that during the past ten years, the TMA is facing losses in millions of rupees because of tax evading.

He said that in the first phase of the operation more than 500 illegally erected billboards had been removed from the city and confiscated by the encroachment branch of the TMA.
